    • Particle Scrub: Through the use of mechanical reduction, this scrub utilizes the filter media's fine micro-mesh structure to trap particles. Effective for reducing large particles of contaminants like cysts, rust, and other sediments.
       
    • Chemical Scrub: A chemical reduction process that uses the carbon granules oleophilic surface to attract organic compounds and non-polar contaminants, which they ADSORB onto their surfaces. Effective for reducing common disinfection byproducts (THMs), organic contaminants like chlorinated solvents, pesticides, and other industrial pollutants.
       
    • Polishing Scrub: Utilizes pressure to force-diffuse your water throughout the filter's vast micro-pore mesh to expose and reduce dangerous and aesthetic contaminants. The filter media of a single cartridge can have a surface area that exceeds 50 thousand square feet. Effective for improving the safety of your drinking water while greatly reducing undesirable taste, odor, and color.
       
    • Softening Scrub: An ion exchange process that utilizes a 'resin' of hundreds of porous polymer beads inside the carbon bed. These beads contain electrically charged atoms, known as ions, in two forms - positive and negative. During the ion exchange process, these beads exchange their harmless ions for similar ions of unwanted contaminants that cause water hardness (like magnesium and calcium), leaving the contaminants 'stuck' to the fixed ions within the beads.
